"Před dvěma lety byla v Praze na Světě knihy velká běloruská delegace. Měli jsme tu své stanoviště a mnoho různých setkání. Předpokládám, že letos tu Bělorusko reprezentuji jenom já. Bělorusko jako by zmizelo z politické scény. Ale tragédie Běloruska pokračuje. Jsem vděčný, že mohu díky přátelům z Fondu Arnošta Lustiga tuto tragédii připomenout," uvedl besedu běloruský básník a disident Dmitrij Strocev.

Autor popsal, jak ho k psaní poetické reportáže přiměly okolnosti. Verše skládá více než 40 let. Věnoval se složitým metaforickým básním, na jejichž tvorbu potřeboval mnoho měsíců až let. Bylo pro něj důležité uslyšet ta správná slova. Jenomže uprostřed let 2000 až 2010 vtrhla ruská armáda do Gruzie a evropské události se daly do pohybu. "Pochopil jsem, že tahle složitá metoda tvorby už není vhodná. A že se potřebuji vyjádřit zevnitř události. Nemám přitom čas hledat krásná slova. V tom okamžiku se otevřel internet a měl jsem možnost publikovat. Když jsme v roce 2020 začali chodit na demonstrace v Bělorusku, vracel jsem se domů celý rozechvělý a zapisoval jsem si okamžitě svoje dojmy," popisoval Strocev.

Večer prý rychle publikoval básně na Facebooku. A ráno zjistil, že už jsou přeložené do několika jazyků a sdílené různě po světě. Upozornil též, že se nejedná o novinářské svědectví, ale svědectví básníka, který je vyděšen tím, co se děje. Z těchto zážitků vznikla nová kniha s názvem Poetická reportáž.

Básník krátce popsal složitou situaci, jež v Bělorusku momentálně panuje. Musí prý často vysvětlovat, že jeho vlast je v dnešní době také okupovaná. Teror, který provádí zločinná vláda vůči svému vlastnímu obyvatelstvu, by nebyl možný bez posvěcení ruské vlády. "Desetitisíce lidí jsou ve vězení, stovky tisíc lidí musely zemi opustit. Tisíce Bělorusů vstoupily do ukrajinské armády a bojují tam za svobodu. A my do osvobození Ukrajinců vkládáme naději," řekl Dmitrij Strocev.

Básník momentálně žije v emigraci v Berlíně. Je to pro něj těžká osobní zkouška, protože svou domovinu má velice rád. Podařilo se mu však založit nakladatelství a v rámci něj vydat 15 knih běloruských autorů. Knihy vyrábí sám ručně na základě předchozí objednávky.

Testimony of a poet who is terrified by what is happening

"Two years ago, a large Belarusian delegation attended Book World Prague. We had our stand here and many different meetings. I reckon that this year, I am the only one representing Belarus. Belarus seems to have disappeared from the political scene. But the tragedy of Belarus continues. I am grateful that, thanks to the friends from the Arnošt Lustig Fund, I can bring attention to this tragedy," said Belarusian poet and dissident Dmitrij Strotsev at the beginning of the discussion.

The author described how circumstances led him to write a poetic reportage. He has been writing poetry for more than 40 years. He used to write complex metaphorical poems that took many months or even years to create. It was important for him to hear the right words. But between 2000 and 2010, the Russian army invaded Georgia, and European events were set in motion. "I realised that this complex way of writing was no longer suitable. And that I needed to express myself from within the event when I don't have time to look for beautiful words. At that point the internet opened up and I had the opportunity to publish. When we started going to demonstrations in Belarus in 2020, I would come home all shaken and immediately write down my impressions," Strotsev described.

Then in the evening he would publish poems on Facebook. And in the morning, he found out that they had already been translated into several languages and shared around the world. He also pointed out that this is not the testimony of a journalist, but the testimony of a poet who is terrified by what is happening. His new book entitled Poetic Reportage draws on these experiences.

The poet briefly described the difficult situation in Belarus at the moment. He says that he often has to explain that his country is also occupied today. The terror that the criminal government is committing against its own people would not be possible without the approval of the Russian government. "Tens of thousands of people are in prison, hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to leave the country. Thousands of Belarusians have joined the Ukrainian army to fight for freedom. And we put our hope in the liberation of the Ukrainians," said Dmitrij Strotsev.

The poet currently lives in exile in Berlin. This is a very personal test for him because he loves his country very much. However, he managed to found a publishing house and publish fifteen books by Belarusian authors. He makes the books himself by hand, based on a pre-order.
